After a lot of deliberation I decided to go with the Graceful Garden stamp set for this week’s colour challenge from Cathy.
I’ve no idea why I seem to be having issues week, it doesn’t usually take me too long to figure things out. But, this time around there were a lot of trials with other stamp sets before I came up with something I was happy with.

Graceful Garden, Carryover, CAS, Oakfield Crafts, Stampin' Up!
I love the rose from this stamp set. It stamps beautifully.
Normally I would use my Stampin’ Markers to ink up the stamp so that I had both colours on the one image but I braved it this time around and used the ink pads to get a richer colour.
Once I stamped the image I decided that I needed to add a sentiment, so I opted to do something I little different. The sentiment also from the Graceful Garden stamp set was stamped in Pacific Point and then punched out using a 1″ Circle Punch. I then punched a scrap piece of Pacific Point using the Classic Label Punch and then re-punched it using the 1-3/8″ Circle Punch to get the curved ends. The little yellow pearl comes from the new Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.
Of course the inside was stamped too.
I made one other card using the same challenge colours. This was the card I was going to use for the challenge but I decided that it was CAS enough.
I love the background stamp but thought it a bit too busy in the bright Pacific Point. I did try stamping it off but it then looked too washed out for my liking!
Both cards use exactly the same layers as follows-
Pacific Point card base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm (scored and folded at 14.9 cm)
So Saffron layer – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
Whisper White layer – 9.5 x 13.9 cm
White White for inside – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
I hope that the Graceful Garden cards inspire you to give the challenge a go. You can find the links and rules over on the CAS Colours & Sketches Blog along with all the inspiring cards from the other members of the Design Team.
Happy stamping
Fiona xx
