I hope you have all been enjoying the fabulous UK weather this past Bank Holiday weekend. I’m hoping that it will continue for at least a few more days, but sadly the weatherman says not.
This week Cathy has a sketch challenge for us.
Because it’s May and the start of the summer wedding season, I decided to turn the sketch on it’s side and make a wedding card.
Weddings to me means lots of flowers, but this is a CAS challenge, so I dug out my Rose Wonder stamp set. I knew that there was a smallish flower in the set that would look great stamped onto a small square.
The Layering Square Framelits and the Stitched Shape Framelits were used to create the square holes in the front panel and also the stitched squares for the stamping. In fact, I was a little frugal because I used the squares left over from the front panel to cut out the small stitched squares.
Two of the flowers on the front, were stamped in Wisteria Wonder and the third (centre) one was stamped in Perfect Plum. The inside of the card was also stamped in Perfect Plum.
The sentiment on the front was also stamped in Perfect Plum just to tie in the whole colour combination.
Cutting instructions for the card are as follows:
- Wisteria Wonder card base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm (A4 cut in half along it’s length) scored and folded at 14.9 cm.
- Whisper White front panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm with three squares cut from it.
- Perfect Plum panel – 9.0 x 13.0 cm glued behind the Whisper White front panel so that it shows through the square cut-outs.
- Whisper White inside panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
- Whisper White stitched squares – cut from the three squares cut out of the front panel.
Because it’s a wedding card I decided to add a bit of bling in the shape of some rhinestones for the centres of the flowers.
I hope you give the sketch a go and you can find the link to add your card over on the CAS Colours & Sketches Blog. You will find lots of other inspiration there too from the other members of the Design Team.
Happy stamping.
