My eldest niece was 21 at the beginning of the month and today we get to celebrate. She loves all things flamingo so when I saw the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set sitting on my shelf I knew I had found the ideal stamp to use on her card.
I wanted to try something a little different, and opted to use the Hidden Letter Technique. And, this is what I came up with when I combined the two.
Once all the stamping was done I then had to figure out the placement of the dies to cut out the letters. I worked out where the bottom of the dies had to be and drew a very faint pencil line. Using the Large Letter Framelits I cut out the first three letters “HOL”. There is only one L in the set so I then had to cut the other two letters “LY”. I also remembered to keep the inside of the O because that would have to be glued onto the card front.
I then cut out three more of each of the letters from some scrap Whisper White and glued them to the back of each of the corresponding letter.
Once the Whisper White card front was glued to the Flirty Flamingo cardstock (10.0 x 14.4 cm), I was then able to glue the letters back in place, being careful to make sure I had the two Ls the right way round. Lastly, I glued the middle of the O back into place.
I’ll find out later when we all meet up for dinner whether Holly likes the card.
Happy stamping
Fiona xx
