Today is Mother’s Day here in the UK so I’m just stopping by with a quick post to share the cards that I made for my mother and my mother-in-law.
The card involves a bit of colouring with some Stampin’ Blends and then fussy cutting around the flowers and leaves. I have in fact added a couple of buds for some extra interest.
I used the fabulous Springtime Foils along with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder. Both of these are from the most recently released Sale-A-Bration catalogue. The Basket Weave Embossing Folder is part of a Level 2 bundle but will be available for purchase from 1 June.
- I used a Soft Sky base and glued a 10.0 x 14.4 cm piece of Shimmery White cardstock to the front.
- Two large circles were then cut out, one from Vellum and the other from Pool Party cardstock.
- The Vellum circle was then put through my Big Shot with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder. Sadly the photo doesn’t do the vellum justice.
- I spooled some Gold Metallic Thread and fixed it to the back of the Pool Party circle using some Stampin’ Dimensionals and the whole thing was fixed to the card front.
- The Vellum was fixed to the Pool Party circle using a Glue Dot.
- I coloured in one of the flowers, a couple of buds and also the leaves using my Stampin’ Blends. Once coloured I fussy cut them out using my Paper Snips.
- The flowers, leaves and buds were added to the Vellum circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The second card was designed by Linda Hannah as a Make N Take for a recent team meeting. I changed a couple of things and like the card so much that it’s going to be given today.
I shared the instructions on how to make this card as part of my newsletter. If you don’t want to miss out on future instructions and ideas sign up for my newsletter now by using the subscribe button in the left-hand margin.
Happy stamping.
