Welcome to the second challenge of the month, and it’s time for a sketch. Samantha has designed this one for us.
For some reason this sketch had me a totally flummoxed and it took me some time to get my head around it. Not helped by a really bad head cold that I seem to have picked up from somewhere. Anyway, this is what I came up with.
This first card (above) involved stamping the line three times in Pool Party ink. Luckily the stamp set I used, Butterfly Basics, is a photopolymer set and can therefore be bent (within reason) to a suitable shape. Being photopolymer meant that I could simply stamp the lines without the need of a positioning tool.
The sentiment also comes from the same stamp set and I simply stamped it in Night of Navy ink over the top.
I went on to make two further cards using the same design. The second card, was made by simply layering a smaller piece of Whisper White card stock on top (held secure by some re-positional tape) and then stamping over both pieces of cardstock at the same time. I then popped up the sentiment piece on dimensionals and lined it up with the image on the bottom.
The third card (below) is a variation on the card above where I added a Night of Navy mat underneath the sentiment before adhering it to the card front. This is a really good technique to use if you are stamping with wood or clear mount stamps. This is because you don’t always get the surrounding edge of the image when stamping over both pieces and by layering the smaller piece onto a mat of colour the missing edges can’t be seen.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get a chance to check out what the other members of the Design Team have been up to.
