The last challenge for July is a sketch and this is what Cathy has for us.
I had lots of ideas as to what I wanted to do with this sketch – so many that I couldn’t decide which was my favourite. In the end, I decided on this card because it’s something suitable for all genders.
I used the Feather Together stamp set and teamed it up with the Seaside Embossing Folder because the lines on the embossing folder reminded me of the structure of an individual feather.
The card base is in Early Espresso and the feathers were stamped in Early Espresso and Soft Suede. I stamped the middle one first in centre of the 6.0 x 9.5 cm piece of Whisper White and then I stamped the Soft Suede ones either side. I kept the images closer to the top of the Whisper White so that I had enough room to add the sentiment banner.
I liked the banner that Cathy had on her sketch so I decided to keep it as is. It was pretty easy to make, starting as a 2.0 cm wide strip of Whisper White. The sentiment, also from the Feather Together stamp set, is stamped in Soft Suede ink. Once the sentiment was stamped, I cut the diagonals using my paper snips. I then had two 2.0 cm wide strips of Early Espresso and cut a diagonal on one end of these using the Whisper White sentiment strip as a template. That way I ensured that the same diagonal was cut for each end.

Details of the products used to make my card are as follows:
The feathers look very elegant in the neutral color scheme. Nicely done!
Love your embossed background and your gorgeous neutral color choice, Fiona!!
Pretty card. I love the embossed background – cool way to give supplies a new life (I wouldn't have thought about using a "sea" folder with feathers – but this totally works wonderfully).
I really like the combination of the feathers with the embossed background – I agree the embossing reminds me of individual feathers too!
Love how you have embossed the wavy lines to compliment the curve and flow of the feathers. Beautifully done. Hugs Bev x
