This week it’s time for a sketch and this is the one that Cathy came up with for us to play with.
I took a bit of artistic license with mine, and placed the oval slightly further down the card. I’m hoping Cathy doesn’t mind.
It took me a little while to get the stamping on the oval right. I tried a number of different combinations of colours before I came up with this one.
The flower head was stamped in Night of Navy, the stem in Pear Pizzazz and the sentiment in Basic Black. I coloured in the petals on the flowers using a Blender Pen and some Night of Navy ink.
I used some co-ordinating paper to finish off the inside of my card and the envelope too.
Brief instructions on how to make this card are as follows:
- Base card is a piece of Thick Whisper White measuring 10.5 x 29.8 cm which has been scored and folded at 14.9 cm.
- A strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Delightful Daisy pack was cut. The strip measures 2.5 x 14.4 cm.
- The strip of DSP was then cut in two at 2.0 cm to give a strip measuring 0.5 x 14.4 cm and another measuring 2.0 x 14.4 cm.
- Glue the two strips of DSP to a piece of Thick Whisper White measuring 10.0 x 14.4 cm. There is a 0.5 cm gap between the thickest strip and the edge of the cardstock and another very small gap between the two strips o DSP.
- Adhere the piece of Thick Whisper White to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Using a scrap piece of Whisper White (measuring at least 5.0 x 7.5 cm) stamp the sentiment in Basic Black. Then stamp the flower stem in Pear Pizzazz – please note I only inked up the top 1/3 of the stamp. Lastly, stamp the flower head in Night of Navy ink.
- Using the 2nd largest of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits cut of the oval around the stamped sentiment and image.
- Using a Blender Pen and some Night of Navy ink, lightly colour in some of the flower petals.
- Add the oval to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Decorate inside of card and envelope as desired.
I hope you like this project and please feel free to leave a comment. Also, don’t forget to check out the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team over on the CC&S Challenge Blog.

I love how you have stamped over the flower with your sentiment and the patterned paper works in beautifully with the stamped flower!
Sweet card! I love the daisy pattern paper!
Pretty paper and blue floral. Great idea to over stamp the flower with the sentiment, gives a wonderful focal point. Hugs Bev x
