It’s the first challenge of the month and Cathy has a colour challenge for us this week.
I love these colours. Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist are two of the new In Colors for 2017-2019. And, Island Indigo is an In Color from 2011-2013, which was then brought back as a main (Regals Collection) colour in the 2013 colour refresh.
I used the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders and Happy Celebrations co-ordinating stamp set to make my card.
I made the card as follows:
- The Lemon Lime Twist card base started as a piece of cardstock measuring 21.0 x 14.9 cm. It was scored and folded at 10.5 cm to make the card.
- A piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10.0 x 14.4 cm was run through the Big Shot with the Happy embossing folder.
- Using the smaller block stamp from the Happy Celebrations stamp set I then stamped over each letter of the word Happy individually, alternating the colours. At least I thought I was alternating them but on taking the photo I realised I hadn’t quite!
- The Birthday To You was them stamped under the embossed word in Lemon Lime Twist ink.
- An Island Indigo enamel dot was added over the dot on the exclamation mark.
- The whole piece of Whisper White cardstock was then added to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Don’t forget to check out what other members of the Design Team have made and of course I look forward to seeing your project in the challenge.

I like the bold graphic look of your card – and with these colors, it's equally suitable to give to a girl or a guy of any age! 🙂
A great way to use this week's colours Fiona – beautifully balanced with all that white space. I have this embossing folder and don't use it enough – it looks great on your card!
Fun card! I don't think the color layout is an oops – instead the pink over the secondary sentiment helps draw the eye!
Fabulous way to use those colors.
Just lovely Fiona, I love the huge bold Happy..
The colours work perfectly for this CAS and HAPPY card, beautifully done. Hugs Bev x
Just adorable, Emily! It's one of those CAS cards that makes me want to rush out and buy the supplies to make it for myself!! Never noticed your color "oops" (Until I read about it!!).
Thanks Cathy, I love how the ink catches on the embossed lettering. I've only used the folder a couple of times and need to use it more often. Fiona x
