Welcome to the first of June’s CAS Colours & Sketches Challenges. This week Cathy has set a colour challenge for us.
A very pretty colour combination but for some reason it had me completely stumped as to what to do.
After a few unsuccessful attempts, this is what I came up with.
I started with a Crumb Cake (21.0 x 14.9 cm folded in half at 10.5 cm) base card and glued a piece of Soft Sky (10.0 x 14.4 cm) directly on top of it. Next, I cut out from a layer of Calypso Coral (9.5 x 13.9 cm) the hugs sentiment using the new Lovely Words Thinlits Dies. This was adhered over the Soft Sky using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Next, I stamped the I’m here for you sentiment (from the Weather Together stamp set) in Crumb Cake onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I then punched the sentiment out using the Classic Label Punch. This was fixed to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Last, but not least, I added three Calypso Coral enamel hearts to the card front.
Apologies for the poor photography. I’ve just moved my light box and lights to another part of the craft room and I need to figure out all the settings I need on my camera.
Don’t forget to pop over to the CAS Colours & Sketches blog to see what other members of the Design Team have been up to.
If you fancy taking part in the challenge you will find the link to post your picture on the CC&S blog together with the challenge rules. If you wish to be considered as a Weekly Winner, please, please, take a moment to check out the rules to ensure your card complies with them.
