Being the fourth (and last) week of the month, Bev has a sketch for us. This is the last one for this month and I have to say that I’ve loved all four ideas that Bev has come up with.
Here is this week’s sketch that we have to play with.
I made my card while I was away in the USA, and to be honest I’m not sure if I like it. Don’t get me wrong, I like it just don’t love it for some reason. As funny as it sounds, it looks better in the photo rather than in real life! Anyway, please feel free to leave a comment or suggestion.
Anyway, this is what I came up with.
I’m a real fan of the Lift Me Up stamp set and co-ordinating Up & Away Thinlits Dies and this was one of the sets I had taken on my travels. Thankfully both of these are carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue, but not as a bundle. However, I didn’t have any scallop dies to make an edge or any other edgelit dies so I made my own using 1″ circles punched out of cardstock. I think that this is the bit I’m unsure of.
I went with the clouds from the stamp set instead of embellishments because I forgot to take some with me and only realised once there that I didn’t have any. Best laid plans and all that.
The colours that I used are Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe cardstock, and also Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder inks. All three colours are 2015-2017 In Colors and will be leaving us come 31 May.
Don’t forget to leave a comment before you pop to the Case Colours & Sketches blog post to see what everyone else has been up to.

The multicolored "scallops" give your card a fun touch! Clever use of your circle punches there!
Awesome card! Love the colors and how you used the sketch!
I really like the colour combination and think the hot air balloon and the scallops work really well together!
Great way to flip the sketch.
I love the creativity with your scalloped edge, Fiona!
Love how yoou've interpreted the trios of elements from the sketch, matches the hot air balloon perfectly. Great card.
BEAUTIFUL! Love how you have created the scalloped edge and the colour scheme is so fresh and cheery. FAB use of the sketch too. Hugs Bev x
