A couple of weeks ago I received an email asking me if I would be interested in being the June guest designer for the CAS Colours & Sketches Blog. I’m surprised that the neighbours didn’t hear my squeals of excitement when I opened the email.
Of course I said yes, and I can’t wait to share the projects I have lined up for this month’s challenges. The first one this month is the CAS Colours & Sketches #176, which is a colour one.
I thought long and hard about what to do. Do I go for an old favourite that carried over into the new annual catalogue or use one of my new stamp sets? Choices, choices.
This is what I finally came up with.
I used the new Love & Affection stamp set and some post-it notes for this masking technique card.
I decided to highlight one of the larger flowers by simply stamping another on a scrap of Whisper White and fussy cutting it out. I chopped off (a very technical term) part of the flower so that it matched the one in the corner. One simple rhinestone and some dimensionals to give it some height and voila.
Of course I also decorated the inside of the card as you can see from the photo below.
The card will be part of my Open House display. It’s is not until Saturday and I’ll post photos of the displays early next week.
I hope you like the card and as always, please feel free to leave comments.
