A couple of days ago I shared two boxes that I made to hold some of the Stampin’ Up! Notecards. Today I am sharing some of the decorated notecards that are in the boxes.
I’ve stuck to the theme of using just one colour to stamp the butterfly wings – the boxes made the other day were in Lost Lagoon so of course I have continued with this colour scheme.
The dots were stamped by inking once and then stamping a number of times on the Very Vanilla card stock |
The notecards themselves are not full size C6 cards (they measure 12.7 cm x 8.9 cm with the envelopes measuring 13.0 cm x 9.2 cm) so it did not take too much to decorate them. In fact I had to restrain myself otherwise they would have looked too busy. Those of you who know me, know that I don’t do busy. The notecards themselves are an absolute bargain because you get 20 cards along with 20 envelopes for just £5.50. They are available in both Crumb Cake (used on this project) and Whisper White.
I made two cards with a circle theme, and another two with a rectangle theme. None of them were complicated to make. Having said that, if you want to keep things really simple I think four of any of the same card in a box, would be a lovely gift to give.
Circle dies and punches were used to make this effect along with the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder |
All of the cards were made using the Watercolor Wings stamp set and I used the same greeting from the set on each card. The greeting was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
A little bit of Gold Thread to add some interest |
Three die cut butterflies |
Of course, I didn’t forget to decorate the envelopes too, and I tried to do each one a little differently. They do look better in real life (honest).
I hope you give the box and notecards a go and would love to see what you make. I would also love to hear what you think of my projects . Love them, hate them, too complicated or what?
If you want to know what I used for these notecards, here are the details:
Love your work! Thanks for sharing – found your butterfly box on Stampin' Connection.
Thank you Ann. I must remember to post more photos on there. It's such a great resource for Stampin' Up! demonstrators.
