As I mentioned the other day, this week is a busy birthday week. Meaning that I’ve had a need to make some quick and simple cards.
One quick way of decorating a card is to use some Designer Series Paper (DSP) and this week I have chosen to feature the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. This paper stack is great for cards and scrapbooking because it measures 15.2 cm x 15.2 cm (6″ x 6″) so there’s really very little waste.
These are just some of the cards that I’ve made.

A bit of bling and some White Baker’s Twine that I had split just gave the right finish to the card above. Leftover DSP was used to decorate the envelope.
I’ve kept these cards simple and have used one stamp on all three – “Happy Birthday” from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set.
I even used the sentiment to decorate one of the envelopes; both front and flap. I used co-ordinating colours for the stamp – Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Tip Top Taupe. For the greeting on the front of the card I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I have to admit, that I do like to keep my scraps (as people who come to class will confirm) but sometimes, they are just too small to do anything with, and those I usually throw away. Or so I thought. I used three very thin strips of DSP and card stock to decorate the inside of the card, and I think they finish off the card quite nicely.
I’m not convinced that I am now going to start to keep everything but I just wanted to share that if you are lost for something to decorate an inside of a card (or an envelope) with, a scrap piece (from the card or DSP that you are using) could be just the thing you need.
This last card is decorated entirely with scraps from the card I featured last Saturday. They were most definitely too large to throw away and I knew at the time that I would be able to use them for something. The banner was cut by hand. I simply cut a strip of card and then stamped the greeting. Cut the banner and then mounted the card onto the Bermuda Bay strip which was 0.5 cm wider and again cut the banner.
