I promise that this is the last Christmas card of 2014 and then I’ll be turning up the heat with some more Spring/Summer and Sale-a-Bration sneak peeks.
I have to admit that it was a bit last minute as I realised last night that I did not have any cards for the kids. We have my son’s girlfriend staying with us for Christmas so I had to make her one too. I initially thought that I would have a major problem as I do not have any of my more traditional stamp sets with me. But, then I remembered that I had packed my Project Life December Wonder stamp set (Autumn/Winter Supplement) so I used that.
The colour combinations are L to R – Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow, Mossy Meadow and Real Red and Real Red with Mossy Meadow. I stamped off the snowflakes before stamping the card fronts as I did not want them to be too bright. I added some Basic Rhinestones to the centres of some of them too.
Here’s a better look at one – I split the Linen Thread and then simply coiled it and stuck it to the card front with a couple of Dimensionals (hidden under the greeting). This is something that one of the German SU demonstrators, Kerstin Kreis does a lot of, and had us doing it for one of the make and takes at Convention. It is a very simple but effective way of adding another dimension to the card without making it over fussy. You can try this trick with the Baker’s Twine too.
The inside of the card is very simply decorated too.
I hope you all have a fabulous day – I am just starting mine as I’m 8 hours behind London.
Merry Christmas to you all where ever you are.
