Today’s post is a card that I made for two challenges. It also stays with this week’s theme of using up my scraps.
The two challenges that I spotted are a firstly a colour challenge from the Dynamic Duo’s – this is a new one that I saw on another blog so I thought I’d give it a go. It is their DD#50: Calypso Coral & Blushing Bride
I know that Blushing Bride is not currently a colour that it is available here in the UK but it will be very soon (unless like me you still have yours from the 2010-2012 In Color range).
The second challenge is one from the SUO Challenge – # 69 Anything Sizzix!
Here’s my card which hopefully meets the criteria of both challenges.
I’m thinking that this one is probably stretching the rules slightly. In case you are wondering what Sizzix product I used, it is the Lattice Bigz Die. However, I did not use the lattice part but the negative piece left after cutting out and removing the lattice. It does make a lovely frame and as I’ve said, I hate to waste good pieces of scrap.
I also think I’ve been looking at this photo too long. It looks like the middle part is popping out whereas it is in fact underneath the frame and the word punch is popped up on dimensionals too – talk about an optical illusion!
Stampin’ Up! products used:
Stamp Set : Teeny Tiny Sentiments and Summer Silhouettes
Ink : Soft Suede, Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride
Card stock : Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Calypso Coral
Accessories : Word Window punch, Stamp-a-ma-Jig, Lattice Bigz Die and Dimensionals
Check back to tomorrow to see what I’ve done with the lattice. In the meantime please feel free to leave a comment.
This is so creative, knocks my socks off!!
You are so right, I completely thought the middle part was popping out, as well. I was staring at it wondering "How did she DO that?" Haha! What a fun way to use the negative space from the die cut, too. Such a pretty card! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Dynamic Duos! 🙂
Oh, you are not cheating, just being super creative!! Love the negative image on the Lattice Die and the color combo is so soft and pretty! Thanks for sharing with us at SU-Only Challenges!
I was thinking it was popped up too! Guess my eyes were doing funny things. I adore how you've used this scrap. Thanks for playing with the Dynamic Duos.
Oh my gosh, this is lovely! What a clever way to use the negative space from the lattice die! I love how your images are stamped underneath and on top of the cut-out. What a serene card! Thanks for playing along at Dynamic Duos this week! ♥
