When it’s a circle, of course!
When I was looking through the other entries to the Less is More Scallop Challenge I spotted a little card made by Ardyth Percy-Robb over at MASKerade. Click on the link to see her original card. I knew that I just had to CASe it.
I also spotted the latest challenge from ColourQ which is to use the following:
Calypso Coral
Soft Suede
Daffodil Delight
Blushing Bride and of course
Whisper White
Although I have used these colours I decided not to enter the challenge as I was CASing someone else’s card.
Ardyth used daubers (or a small round stamp) to make her circles but I decided to use my 1/2″ Circle punch.
Here’s how the base of my card started
And here’s how the finished card ended up.
I guess that it’s not really like the original as it is a little busier. I love this colour combination though.

Some of you maybe wondering why I am using Blushing Bride as it is an old In Color that finished last year. Well…. the big news yesterday is that Stampin’ Up! have just announced a Colour Refresh.
Back in 2010 Stampin’ Up! announced that in order to keep up with the latest trend in colours that every 3-5 years there would be a small refresh of the main colours. Guess what, the 3 years are now up and as from 1 July 2013 there will be ten new colours introduced to the main colour families. Don’t panic though as some of them are old favourite In Colors are being brought back (yippee, I love Pool Party and Island Indigo). Here’s what’s happening
Sadly, it does mean that there are 10 colours that will be retiring. This means that not only the ink, but the paper, ribbon, markers etc in those colours will be retiring too.
You will be able to purchase the new colours (if you don’t have them from past In Color Collections) when the new Annual Catalogue is released on 1 July. In the meantime, if one of your favourite colours will be retiring then now is the time to stock up as items will only be available while stocks last.
STOP PRESS – There has just been another announcement (I’m not sure if I can keep up with all this). The Watercolour Pencils and Crayons are going to be discontinued. This is because of problems with the suppliers. If you have them on your wish list of items, then you should think about ordering them sooner rather than later as, like the retiring colours, they will only be available while current stock lasts.
If you would like to order your retiring ink, paper or ribbon before your favourite colour disappears or any of the Watercolour Pencils or Crayons please email me at fiona.whitten11@gmail.com
