I’m really sorry that I’ve not posted anything since last Sunday. It’s been a little bit chaotic at home because we have had dust everywhere thanks to an electrical problem in the kitchen ceiling. It is all sorted now, which is lucky because tomorrow I have 12 lovely ladies visiting for our (Julie’s and my) Craft Day. So, as well as trying to get the electrical problem sorted I have been busy with all the prep for tomorrow too.
I did take a morning off this week and I went to visit my friend Louise. I have known her for well over 10 years and we met when we were both living in San Diego. It is Louise that I have to thank for the introduction to Stampin’ Up!, as one of her friends was a demonstrator for them in San Diego. To cut a long story short, Louise and her family returned to live in the UK a month before my family did, but we have stayed in touch. On Wednesday I went to her house to do a small class for her and some of her friends. We had a great time and they all made some lovely cards. I will post some photos of my samples another day (promise).
I was asked if I had the Petal Cone Die and whether I had any projects – the answer to both of these was no. I have now partially rectified matters, as my upline the lovely Cate, has the die and I have borrowed it off her to make a few things.
Today’s post has a photo of one of the projects that I made with the die and in keeping with this month’s theme of Brads and Glitter it has one of the lovely Antique Brads on it.
The box was made out of Wild Wasabi card stock and I have used one of the small stamps from the Spiced Paisley stamp set and stamped it in Soft Suede. At the bottom of the box is another piece of Wild Wasabi that I punched out using the Scallop Square punch.
On the top of the box I have fixed a flower that I have made using the Fun Flowers die out of Spice Cake DSP. I have layered it with some Soft Suede that I ran through the Big Shot using the same die. The paper and card stock were scrunched before daubing some Soft Suede onto the edges to highlight them a little. The whole flower is (as I’ve already said) held together with an Antique Brad.
Don’t forget that the Spiced Paisley stamp set and the Spice Cake DSP are in the current Spring Mini which is only available until the end of April.
