Many people forget that as well as all the fabulous stamp sets that the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalogue contains there are also three pages of single À la Carte stamps. My current favourite is the Triple Treat Flower as it co-ordinates perfectly with the Fancy Flower punch.
Today’s post contains not one but three cards that I have made using the Triple Treat Flower stamp and the Fancy Flower punch. You will notice that not all the flowers were punched out, some have been cut out by hand so that they can be layered.
All three cards have been made using the same colours, Rich Razzleberry, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla (the last card has some Old Olive too). I just want to show that even with limited supplies it is possible to make totally different but fabulous looking cards.
This first card was made using a Rich Razzleberry card base that has been stamped in Rich Razzleberry and the bottom edge was then punched using the Scallop Trim Border punch. A piece of Marina Mist was then added under the scallop edge to make it stand out.
The centre medallion is a square of Marina Mist that has faux stitching around the edges and which was then glued to the card base at a 45 degree angle so it looks like a diamond. I stamped the image three times onto Very Vanilla card stock, twice in Rich Razzleberry and the third in Marina Mist. I took a pair of scissors to one of the Rich Razzleberry images and cut around the centre petals and the other two images were punched out using the Fancy Flower punch. Once a piece of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon had been fixed along the length of the card, the images were added so that the flower looks layered and then I added a Rhinestone to the centre.
The second card (above) has a Rich Razzleberry base. A piece of Marina Mist card stock was cut so that it looks like a ribbon and then faux stitching was drawn around the “ribbon” before it was glued to the card base.
The flower image was stamped twice onto Very Vanilla, once in Marina Mist and the second time in Rich Razzleberry. The Marina Mist image was punched out and the Rich Razzleberry was cut out around the centre petals. I also used the punch on another piece of Rich Razzleberry. A piece of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon was glued to the underside before fixing it to the Marina Mist faux ribbon. The flower was finished off by layering the stamped Marina Mist onto the punched Rich Razzleberry and then adding the Rich Razzleberry petals to the top with a Rhinestone topping that.
The third card (above) was made using a Rich Razzleberry card base that has been stamped in Rich Razzleberry. Along the centre is a piece of Very Vanilla that has been matted onto a piece of Marina Mist.
The Very Vanilla has two Rich Razzleberry flower images that were stamped to the left and right of centre. I then stamped six images in Marina Mist onto Marina Mist card stock. The central petals of all six images were then cut out. I also inked the centre of the stamp with Old Olive and stamped this twice onto Very Vanilla card stock before cutting it out by hand.
The three flowers were then layered and a Rhinestone added to the centre of each.
These three cards would make a lovely gift and you never know, I might just make a folder for all three and post a photo of it at some later stage.
I hope to post at least one more time before next week’s Make It Show. I only wish I could figure out how to set this thing up so that it automatically posts at the time I ask it to but so far both attempts have failed me. It’s probably more likely to be me rather than the software but who knows. In the meantime I am going to have to keep pushing the button whenever I want something to post!
