Welcome to my blog.
Today I am taking part in a Blog Hop that has been organised by Alison P one of the lovely ladies on the In Love With Stamping web-site. Hopefully you will have hopped here from Julie Halls’ blog, The Crafty Bug. If not, you are still welcome and I hope you enjoy being able to hop around the 20 or so linked sites that have lots of lovely ideas and inspiration taken from the Spring 2012 Mini Catalogue. Details of where to hop to next are at the bottom of today’s blog.
For those of you who have been following my blog over the last few days or so and who already have a copy of the new Spring 2012 Mini Catalogue you will have guessed what the stamp sets and other accessories are that I have been using. Namely, the Spiced Paisley stamp set, Spice Cake Designer Series Paper, Velvet Designer Ribbon, Large 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, and the “Liebe, Love, Amour” À La Carte stamp.
Today’s blog features a card made using the new Spiced Paisley stamp set together with the matching Designer Series Paper, Spice Cake.
The Happy Birthday card was made using a Pool Party base onto which has been matted a piece of Whisper White card stock and a piece of the new Spice Cake Designer Series Paper.
The small stamped images were stamped in Soft Suede onto a square piece of Whisper White card stock (matted onto Soft Suede card stock) and the edges were daubed in Soft Suede using a Sponge Dauber.
The three medallions were stamped in Soft Suede, three onto Pool Party card stock and three onto Spice Cake Designer Series Paper and then cut out. The centre of the stamped Spice Cake medallion was punched out and once the medallion was stuck onto the Pool Party medallion I used Crystal Effects in the centre to give the lovely glossy effect. For once my camera was doing what it is supposed to, so you can see the sheen in the centres.
The pieces of the Spice Cake medallion that had been punched out where matted onto punched Soft Suede card stock (waste not want not) and I then added a stamped message from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s blog and I would appreciate any comments that you leave.
The next step is for you to hop over to Natalie O’Shea’s blog, where she will have another great idea to share with you.

love the glossy centres – really finishes it off
This would make a great male birthday card, I struggle for ideas for male cards. The glossy centres are a great idea.
