I joined Stampin’ Up! too late for registration for this year’s convention, which believe it or not is this weekend at Disneyland Paris. My upline Cate has gone to the convention, as have some of the other “Blue Angels” but since I am still here in the UK, I decided to join in some of the challenges being set by the lovely ladies on the In Love With Stamping (ILWS) web-site.
Thursday’s challenge was to make a gift set. This could be a card plus a box or bag etc. I have just received my latest SU order so decided to have a play and ended up making a card, pillow box and gift card holder. I should add that I already had the dies so I had not gone completely mad with my order. I chose a wedding theme as I don’t have many wedding cards in my sample box.
I’m not sure how many of the challenges I will get to complete as I am supposed to be preparing for a craft fair on Sunday. But this is the first and hopefully I will get to finish some more before the weekend is over. Please check back to see how things are going.
Card – I used a Whisper White base card and the new Triple Treat Flower in Crumb Cake to make a background. A strip of Crumb Cake card stock was adhered to the front after some of the new 1/2″Seam Binding Ribbon in Very Vanilla had been stuck on it. Another stamped flower was punched out using the Fancy Flower punch and I also attached one of the new Antique Brads. A label made from a message from the new Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and the oval surround from the “happy Birthday” stamp in the Perfect Punches stamp set was also added.
Pillow Box – I cut out some Crumb Cake card stock using the Pillow Box Die and used this as the base and then stamped the Triple Treat Flower in Crumb Cake over it. A strip of Crumb Cake from the Neutral Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack was fixed round the made up box. A label the same as that on th card was added.
Gift Card Holder – I used a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and also a piece of Crumb Cake from the Neutrals Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP) and cut them out using the Top Note Die. The Top Note made from the DSP was cut in half length-ways. The card stock Top Note die was stamped in Crumb Cake using the Triple Treat Flower stamp and I also stamped an additional two flowers in the crumb cake combination. These two additional flowers were then punched out using the Fancy Flower punch, and held together with an Antique Brad. A message label the same as that used on the card and pillow box was also added to the holder.
I hope you like the set I have made. I had a great time making them but I have to admit that I may not have had my eye on them 100% of the time as I was singing along to the acts on the Children in Need concert that was on the TV.
Lovely set Fiona, and definitely my type of colours!!

Absolutely love the trio…. beautiful colour palette. Fantastic use of the oval surround etc… I think I will be using that idea very soon!!!
Hope the Craft Fair is a big success too….
Gorgeous – and I really like the subtle colour scheme!
I love this set Fiona. What an ingenius idea, using the frame from the Happy Birthday stamp – I'd have never have thought of doing that!
