When is a card not a card? When it’s an invitation! A friend is having a christmas party and has asked me to make some simple invitations for her to send out.
I used the tree from the Season of Joy set and the “You’re Invited” message from the Sincere Salutations set. The Very Vanilla card stock was cut out using the Top Note Die. I had thought to stamp an additional tree and then use dimensionals to stick it on top of the tree already stamped on the Top Note. But, because the invitations are being mailed I did not want to cause a problem with the Royal Mail wanting additional postage if the card was then too thick for standard 1st Class mail. Instead, I chose to add a small Rhinestone to the dot over the lowercase “i” in Invited, just to add a bit of bling.
I used the Top Note Die again for the reverse side. I cut out a piece of Chocolate Chip and then stamped it in Chocolate Chip using the swirl from the Season of Joy set. I then cut the die in half length ways and stuck it to the reverse side of the Very Vanilla but only on the sides and the bottom so that it forms a pocket. I am going to use my computer to produce and print the details of the party (including map) and she can then slip them into the pocket.
I love the Top Note Die, it is so versatile and can be used for a mutlitude of projects. I’ll be posting more ideas later this month so please check back.
